7 New Year’s Resolutions for a Perfect Content New Year

Honestly, we’re not that into new year resolutions. All this talk about losing weight and being better at everything stresses us out. Not to mention the huge disappointment that comes, when we mid-January already seem to have broken half of them. We´re quite sure you´re all more than hard enough on yourself already. So, let’s not spend the new year punishing ourselves more with rigid ways of living in pursuit of a «perfect» 2019. Cause let´s face it; it doesn’t make us happy, and your new year will never be «perfect». We´ve therefore taken a different approach to our resolutions this year: To avoid all the disappointment, let’s just try to be a bit more content.

Here it goes:

1. Unfollow people that make you feel bad about yourself on Instagram

We mean, what’s the point? Not to copy any competitors or anything but, just do it.

2. Stop focusing so much on not eating this and that

Science shows that people who think about not eating all the time, actually eat more than the people who don’t think about it. It`s logic really: If we ask you right now not to think about muffins, all you will think about is muffins. Sorry, now you want muffins. But, you get the point. Yes, buy healthy groceries and don’t surround yourself with candies and what not all the time, but please dear god, chill. We promise, you will feel much better not trying to not eat all the time. And actually, you will even eat less.

3. Be weird

You know all of those freak-ish sides you love your friends for? Breaking news: They love you for yours too. So why do we restrain ourselves so much to hide who we truly are all the time? Maybe you don’t, but a lot of us work hard, maybe not even consciously, to tone ourselves down, and fit in. Even though nobody likes people who just tries to fit in! Remember that one person at the office you like to hang around, who makes meetings fun and your mind more creative? She`s being herself. We suggest you start doing it too. We guarantee, life will be more fun for you and those around you.

4. Get shit done

Adulting can be hard. Bills, errands, mess, garbage, compulsory phone calls, emails, and what not. Most of our stress actually comes from small things like these piling up. This year, we want to put an end to that. Set all of your monthly bills to auto pay, ask your bank if you don’t know what we´re talking about, it’s about time. Cause nothing is worse than paying debt because you postponed a bill for too long … We don’t want to spend our money on that girls. Answer that email, right away. It’s not that scary. Take your garbage out as soon as you come home. Imagine all the time you spend thinking and stressing about having to do something. Sorry again, we have to quote Nike gash dangit, just do it! And you´ll free so much time to stress about the real things in life. Like, should I buy that puppy or not?

5. It’s okay not to deliver everything perfect every time

We know there are a lot of perfectionists out there who never gets satisfied, and as a result never gets any free time to do nothing. Next time your stressing and saying bad things about yourself, (yes, we can hear you) learn to sometimes be content with what’s «good enough». No one but you know what your initial plan was anyway. And no one will pat you on the shoulder if you spend 10 extra free hours on that detail. Everything doesn’t have to be a masterpiece, just be content with it, do your best and let go.

6. Workout the way you like to

If you hate going to the gym more than anything in the world, don’t. There are plenty of other things you can do to stay active. Try out different activities and find out what works for you. And remember that anything is better than nothing. As long as you find a way to avoid sitting still all day, that’s great. How you do it, is nobody’s business.

7. Say no
